Our most recent SlotZilla Charity Challenge has resulted in $10,660 raised for Three Square, a Las Vegas food bank.
SlotZilla Charity Challenges involve donating ticket sales from flights on the SlotZilla zip line ride in downtown Las Vegas to worthy nonprofits. To-date, more than $84,000 has been donated to Las Vegas organizations by SlotZilla, operated by Fremont Street Experience.
The fundraising effort at SlotZilla for Three Square took place July 16, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The amount donated included ticket sales from SlotZilla’s lower “Zipline” ($40) and lower “Zoomline” ($20).
A number local celebrities attended the event kick-off, including UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin, BMX rider and TV personality Ricardo Laguna, chef Rick Moonen and Miss Nevada US 2014, Lisa Song Sutton. Also in attendance were Vegas Seven magazine food critic Al Mancini and popular local chef Beni Velazquez.
All the guests took to the skies on the SlotZilla Zoomline to show their support for Three Square food bank.
As a special perk for guests, the first 250 flyers during the SlotZilla Charity Challenge a pair of tickets to see singer and impressionist Gordie Brown, courtesy of Golden Nugget.
Jeff Victor, President of Fremont Street Experience, said, “We developed the SlotZilla Charity Challenge concept as a fun and exciting way to give back to the community and we are honored to partner with Three Square Food Bank. Three Square is an amazing organization that provides hunger relief to people in need in Southern Nevada.”
Three Square was established in 2007 to provide hunger relief. Three Square provides more than 34 million pounds of food and grocery products, the equivalent of more than 28 million meals, each year to more than 1,300 community partners. Previous SlotZilla Charity Challenge partners have included Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada, American Heart Association, Opportunity Village, Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities and the MDA.
