OktoberFrightFest Returns to Fremont Street Experience With Free Shows and More

October’s one of our favorite times of the year, and we’ve planned a mash-up of Oktoberfest and Halloween, a masterful mutation we call “OktoberFrightFest.”

OktoberFrightFest takes place at Fremont Street Experience from Oct. 5 to Nov. 1, 2014.

The festivities will feature free performances from three popular, original stage production shows, “Frank & The Steins,” “Vampire Rising” and “Halloween Hotties.”

In honor of OktoberFrightFest, our Viva Vision light shows will include two eye-popping segments, “Time Warp” and “Monster Mash.”

So much fun, it’s frightening.

“Frank & The Steins” is a live musical revue boasting classic Halloween songs. Singers, dancers and musicians perform songs including “Psycho Killers,” “Spooky,” “Time Warp” and “Ghostbusters.” “Frank & The Steins” is produced by Face Productions and choreographed by Melden Steele.

“Frank & The Steins” will perform on our 1st Street Stage (near Binion’s and Golden Nugget), Oct. 5 through Nov. 1, 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (dark Oct. 9, 16 and 23).

This party’s going to wake the dead. Which is not a gross as it sounds.

“Vampire Rising” will perform three themed sets.

The “Gothic” set includes songs on the heavy side of rock, with renditions of Rob Zombie’s “Dragula,” “Man in the Box” by Alice in Chains and Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.”

Vampire Rising’s “Pop Horror” set is hosted by the “Addams Family” and will feature songs on the lighter side of the macabre with hits like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Oingo Boingo’s “Dead Man’s Party.”

The third set, titled “Rock From the Dead,” will have the band costumed like dearly-departed rock stars and will feature Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London,” “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns & Roses and Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper.”

Vampire Rising will perform on our 3rd Street Stage  (between Four Queens and The D Las Vegas) Oct. 7 to Oct. 30, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 p.m. to midnight; Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (dark on Oct. 18).

And, back by popular demand, including this blog’s, it’s the “Halloween Hotties”! This sexy, crowd-pleasing show features all your favorite performers from the long-running “Hotties Summer Nights” show.

“Halloween Hotties” features, well, hotties. It’s Vegas. We’re not big on subtext.

“Halloween Hotties” is a stage production created exclusively for Fremont Street Experience by Face Productions and features “American Idol” season 6 finalist, Haley Scarnato.

The show happens on the Main Street Stage (by the Golden Gate casino) Oct. 6 through Oct. 31, 2014 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

In some of the best news ever, OktoberFrightFest at Fremont Street Experience is sponsored by Captain Morgan rum. Be on the lookout for Captain Morgan specials (a redundancy if ever we’ve heard one) and maybe even the Captain himself.

Speaking of liquor, since Halloween’s covered with all the free shows on Fremont Street, it’s time for some beer and Oktoberfest cheer.

Don’t miss the Golden Nugget’s Fifth Annual Fall Beer Festival, Oct. 10-11, 2014.

This two-day festival brings together craft beer makers, live music, food and hundreds of beers in two events. Find out more at the official Golden Nugget Web site.

Sold! Thanks to Golden Nugget for the pic.

Join us for OktoberFrightFest, and plan to don your Halloween costume for Sin City’s biggest and best Halloween party at Fremont Street Experience on Oct. 31, 2014. It’s the ultimate people-watching experience and simply unlike anything you’ve ever seen, guaranteed.
