Downtown Las Vegas 2019 Wrap Up

This past year in downtown Las Vegas has been one for the books! From packed Downtown Rocks concerts to the unveiling of the stunning new Viva Vision screen, 2019 was never short on things to do in downtown Las Vegas.

Here are some highlights to look back on as we come roaring into 2020.

2019 Downtown Rocks Free Concert Series

The 2019 Downtown Rocks free concert lineup featured a variety of chart-topping artists who captivated their fans with fist-pumping performances at Fremont Street Experience. In case you missed it this year, here are some of the hottest Downtown Rocks concerts of 2019!

Good Charlotte

On May 24, 2019, rock band Good Charlotte hit the Fremont Street Experience stage to kick off the 2019 Downtown Rocks concert series. Good Charlotte has seven studio albums with “The Young and the Hopeless” selling more than five million copies!

Nelly

Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist Nelly performed his most popular songs to a packed crowd at Fremont Street Experience on June 15, 2019.

After releasing “Country Grammar” in 2000, he has since sold more than nine million copies of his debut album worldwide. Nelly’s free concert was one of our best-attended of the year.

Pop 2000 Tour

This fan-favorite concert featured some of the biggest names in music from the 2000s. Hosted by Lance Bass, crowds cheered as O-Town, Aaron Carter, Ryan Cabrera and Tyler Hilton belted out their hit songs.

Members of O-Town even took a ride on the SlotZilla Zipline to soak in the full downtown Las Vegas experience!

Fourth of July at Fremont Street Experience

If there’s anybody who knows how to throw a party, it’s downtown Las Vegas. On July 4, 2019, Eli Young Band rocked out on the Fremont Street Experience stage with a digital fireworks explosion overhead on the Viva Vision screen to celebrate Independence Day. Here’s a look at their performance:

Halloween 2019 in Downtown Las Vegas

All due respect to everywhere else, downtown Vegas pretty much owns Halloween! We’ve got everything from live performances, the craziest costumes, a cash-prize costume contest, Halloween-themed Viva Vision light shows and all the thrills you’d expect from our annual Rock of Horrors party.

Viva Vision Gets a Stunning Upgrade

It was a big year for the Viva Vision light shows with the completion of a $32 million upgrade! The new screen now has 16.4 million pixels creating crisp, detailed images you’ve never seen before.

Circa Resort & Casino to Open in 2020

Circa Resort & Casino is set to open in 2020 and is already making waves in downtown. Built where the Las Vegas Club used to be, this stunning hotel and resort will have 777 rooms, new restaurants, bars, a parking structure and a stunning new casino.

Circa is set to be the next big thing in downtown Las Vegas.

However, the star of this show is the massive multi-tiered pool area with a huge outdoor screen so guests can lounge in the pools while catching a game at the same time. Circa will also feature what’s being billed as the world’s largest sportsbook. Good times ahead for sports fans!

As we head into 2020, we have so much to look forward to at Fremont Street Experience.

If you haven’t been to downtown Las Vegas in a while, now’s the time to check it out. The downtown Las Vegas restaurants and bars, casinos and hotels, and the Viva Vision light shows and SlotZilla (a whole new experience because Viva Vision visuals now play during the day, too) will make this part of town your favorite stop in Sin City.
