Downtown Embraces Las Vegas Restaurant Week With Tempting Values for Charity

Las Vegas Restaurant Week is a “celebration of dining out for a cause,” and several downtown restaurants are offering exceptional values to benefit a nonprofit, Three Square Food Bank.

Restaurant Week Las-Vegas
Restaurant Week ends June 26, 2015, so get busy!

Participating restaurants across the city have put together special prix fixe (fancy for “fixed price”) menus, with a portion of sales going to Three Square Food Bank. These prix fixe menus offer guests a unique opportunity to sample new menu items, often at restaurants they’ve heard about but haven’t visited yet.

Here’s a look at the downtown restaurants taking part in Las Vegas Restaurant Week 2015.

Grotto at Golden Nugget

Grotto Italian Ristorante at Golden Nugget has put together a delicious dinner offering of three courses. Start with a Caesar salad, then choose between Chicken Alfredo, Rigatoni Bolognese and Spaghetti and Meatballs as an entree. Dessert is strawberry cheesecake. Price: $30.15.

NOTE: As of January 2021, the Grotto Italian Ristorante was replaced by the Saltgrass Steakhouse.

While you’re at Grotto, enjoy your view of the hotel’s distinctive pool, The Tank, complete with a water slide through an aquarium filled with sharks.

Glutton

Glutton restaurant is a new offering downtown, but it’s already getting serious buzz. The Restaurant Week dinner menu is three courses, starting with a tomato and melon salad. Choose either Wood Roasted Octopus or Lamb Crepinettes as an entree, and enjoy Wood Oven Crostata for dessert. Price: $40.15.

Triple George Grill

Triple George Grill is one of our favorite downtown haunts, and their Restaurant Week menus don’t disappoint. Triple George has two prix fixe menus, one for lunch and one for dinner. For lunch, choose an appetizer of Fideo Soup or Roasted Beet Salad. Entrees are a choice of the Cuban Sandwich or Lobster Roll, with dessert a choice of the Molten Lava Cake or Sorbet Trio. Price: $20.15. For dinner, it’s either Mushroom Soup or the Roasted Beet Salad for an appetizer, then entree choices of Fried White Bass or Bone-In New York Strip. Dessert is either Vanilla Flan or the Sorbet Trio. Price: $40.15.

One cannot live by prix fixe alone. Don’t skip the signature cocktails at Triple George, including this blackberry martini.

Lillie’s at Golden Nugget

Lillie’s Asian Cuisine restaurant at Golden Nugget is an overlooked gem, with a wide selection of Pan-Asian fare, set against the entertainment value of Teppanyaki tables. For Restaurant Week, Lillie’s is serving up three appetizer options: Potstickers, Spring Rolls or Chicken Satay. The three entree choices are Kung Pao Chicken, Beef With Broccoli or Dan Dan Noodles. For dessert, it’s Chocolate Caramel Banana Cake. Price: $30.15.

Lillies Golden Nugget
Lillie’s can be found in the Golden Nugget’s “restaurant row,” along with the new Claim Jumper and Cadillac Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar.

Rachel’s Kitchen at The Ogden

Rachel’s Kitchen is located in The Ogden residential complex, a block off Fremont Street Experience. Rachel’s Kitchen is serving up a three-course lunch for Las Vegas Restaurant Week, featuring a Chopped Salad appetizer, an entree of Rachel’s Mac and Cheese and dessert of a Pecan Bar. Price: $20.15.

There are a number of Rachel’s Kitchen locations in Las Vegas, but downtown’s is our favorite. Because downtown!

Pizza Rock

If you haven’t visited Pizza Rock yet, you’re in for a treat! This restaurant has taken Vegas by storm, and Las Vegas Restaurant Week is the perfect time to check it out. The lunchtime prix fixe menu boasts the restaurant’s scrumptious Classic Meatballs (which arrive lightning fast, by the way), an entree of either an American Original or Classic Italian pizza (both types are arguably the best in Sin City) and Tony’s Tiramisu. Price: $30.15.
