The Fremont Street Experience Board has named Cannery Casino & Hotel Vice President and General Manager, Patrick Hughes, as the new President and CEO of Fremont Street Experience.
Hughes will begin his new gig at Fremont Street Experience on Feb. 29, 2016, succeeding former President Jeff Victor.
Patrick Hughes is a native of Ireland and has had an extensive career in gaming, hospitality and entertainment over the last two decades.
He moved to Las Vegas at the age of 25 and has worked for a number of hotel-casino resorts including Boulder Station Casino & Hotel, New York-New York Casino and The Resort At Summerlin.
Hughes was on the opening team of The Resort at Summerlin in 1999 and held many positions at that resort, from Gaming Manager to General Manager of Rampart Casino. He’s been at the Cannery Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas for the past four years as Vice President and General Manager.

We believe Patrick is the person who can lead Fremont Street Experience into its next decade of growth and innovation.”
“It is with bittersweet emotions that I leave the Cannery family to whom I am truly thankful for their support,” Hughes said. “I am honored and excited to join Fremont Street Experience and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented team to making this a global destination that will be the centerpiece of this City.”
Fremont Street Experience, LLC is a private company that manages the five-block entertainment destination on Fremont Street, including America’s largest video screen, three stages and the SlotZilla zipline attraction. The Fremont Street Experience Board of Managers is made up of representatives from its eight member hotel-casinos: Binion’s, California, The D, Four Queens, Fremont, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget and Main Street Station.
We look forward to welcoming Patrick Hughes to the Fremont Street Experience family, and not just because we’re kissing up to our new boss, although that’s definitely on our to-do list.

I am from Butte, Montana and have enjoyed visiting Fremont Street several times over the years. Although I don’t always plan my travel in advance, I have planned and made it down for the NASCAR race for the past 4 years. I come to Vegas early in the week and don’t leave until Tuesday so I can spend time doing what I love, gambling and meeting new people on Fremont Street! I plan on continuing this tradition in years to come.
I always run into people I’ve met in previous years, along the Street, over the Race Weekend. Which suggests to me that they are very smart people who know how to have fun!
For the past 4 years the Viva Vision entertainment has been the same each year on Race Weekend. As a matter of fact, several of us commented on this last year. I was disappointed to see it will be the same this year. Don’t get me wrong…I will continue to stay on Fremont Street when I am there next week, and in years to come.
But if I may make a suggestions….perhaps change it up a bit next year? Your regular customers will appreciate it and newcomers will be awed as well!

Congrats to you Mr. Hughes on your appointment as President + CEO of FSE. When I had lots of energy my trips to LV were mostly spent on the strip with a quick trip to downtown which was quite seedy at the time. However, last year I stayed at the D on a father/daughter trip. We used a rental car for daily sightseeing but after the car was parked the real fun began downtown. Kudos to the Stevens brothers for their decent accommodations during our stay. Anyway, best wishes in your new venture hope to meet in person someday. Maybe by staying at the old Fitzgerald’s a handshake would pass some of that Irish luck off my way. Cordially, Pete T

I have searched and searched , but just can’t seem to find a contact to see if I can sell my Kangaroo Scooter product on the Fremont Street, what I would need to be compliant, licences etc. Any help? Thanks
Hello and congratulations to Mr. Hughes on joining the FSE and bringing your expertise to DTLV! I have read an initial concern of yours is to bring more people to the FSE during daylight hours. Guests from around the world join our tours in DTLV during these hours and I share your sentiment that we can do more as only a fraction of all Las Vegas visitors come downtown. Our tours include history but also positively highlight many DTLV establishments including all your members. Often cited as a ‘highlight of the trip’, many guests vow to stay in DTLV on their next visit once they discover everything our downtown has become and has to offer. There are thousands of people every day in Las Vegas that would absolutely love to discover the history, evolution and revitalization of DTLV but are simply unaware. We would welcome the opportunity to work with you to help more people discover our fabulous downtown, and give them a positive experience they will cherish and share. Sir,could you PLEASE turn down the volume on the 3 stages. Every time we go down there we have to take ear plugs which helps a little but, our ears still ring all night & into the next day. Everyone has to yell at each other to have a conversation. That’s just way,way to loud.
